We are now located in the Sacramento Valley-Sierra Foothills of California!!

Background:  We are avid hunters and always have a dog by our side when waterfowl, upland game and deer hunting.  We have worked with several breeds in the past, but none excelled in all areas.  After searching for several years, we discovered the Pudelpointer.  We have been hunting and living with Pudelpointers since 2013 and can say no other breeds compare to the Pudelpointer in our opinion.

Pudelpointers are an impressive versatile hunting dog from Germany. They are a cross between the German Pudel and the English Pointer and were established in the late 1800’s by Baron Von Zedlitz.  They are even-tempered, calm, and self-controlled and on average range from 40-70 pounds. In addition to their excellent hunting abilities, they are known for their minimal shedding and hypoallergenic coat.

Due to their need for human attention and eagerness to please and impress their owner, the Pudelpointer responds well to training and commands. This breed is known for its versatility and is used for hunting, pointing, tracking and retrieving game on both land and water. They are also used for finding and retrieving shed antlers. They have proven their superior abilities to work in the harshest of terrain while providing gentle and enthusiastic friendship.

Their desire, drive, and stamina have made the breed extremely successful in the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA) testing.

Pudelpointers are not registered with AKC, nor does the breed seek AKC recognition as they are bred and trained for hunting rather than show.

Pudelpointers are very intelligent and highly trainable making them an excellent choice for the serious outdoors person and a great companion for around the house.

If you are interested in enhancing your hunting experience or adding a companion to your family, we highly recommend this breed for you!
